Can you advise on building Regulations?
Yes, as a UK supplier of trade aluminium products, we can advise on current building regulations, where required.
What are the advantages of using aluminium in the construction of doors and windows?
Aluminium is a robust, high strength, lightweight material that is widely used by the construction industry for fabricating a range of products, from windows in school buildings to curtain walling on a tall block of offices. The material properties of aluminium allow it to be formed and bent into many different designs. Aluminium is also highly resistant to corrosion and so has a long life, providing years of untroubled use and needs very little maintenance. Aluminium can be sprayed in many combinations of colour to fit any desired colour scheme.
Can your window and door frames be supplied in different colours?
Yes. All doors and windows are supplied finished in white as standard. However, doorframes, window frames and infill panels can be supplied to an exact colour specification that match your branding or building colour scheme or architectural design. We use the internationally recognised RAL colour notation system, which acts to standardise colour. This provides end users with accurate colour standards that correspond with standardised colour numbers and names. You can optionally request any number of colours, depending on your requirements. Aluminium can also be supplied anodised in silver and bronze.
Do you offer doors, windows and ancillary items on a ‘supply only’ basis?
Yes we do. Please contact us to discuss your requirements.
What different glass options are available?
We can supply a large choice of glass options. How will my Enquiry be dealt with? What is the procedure from Enquiry to Installation?
Your enquiry will be handled differently depending on your requirements. There are three options:
1. Supply Only
2. Supply and Fit
3. Surveyor’s Visit, Supply and Fit
Customers Requiring Supply Only
Customers Requiring Supply and Fit
Customers who do not require the advise of a surveyor or a surveyor’s visit will need to supply the following information to enable us to manufacture and supply products to your specification, ie
– Product dimensions
– Product style and any specific options required eg handle type, style of glazing
– Aluminium colour
Once we receive these details from you, we can proceed and present you with an estimate.
Customers Requiring a Surveyor’s Visit, Supply and Fit
If you wish us to handle the complete project, once we receive your enquiry, one of our technical surveyors will contact you to arrange a convenient time to visit your premises to discuss your requirements.
Our surveyor is not a sales person; his job will be to advise on the best solution, taking into account your application and type of building, any size or opening limitations, solar control issues etc. He will take measurements of all doors, windows and other specific requirements you may have including colours to match your house style.
Once all the requirements are known, we will send you an estimate and full technical specifications.
Estimates & Orders
Our estimate will include the total price + VAT, estimated delivery time (for Supply Only customers) or installation date. Estimates are generally valid for 30 days. You will be asked to check all details carefully and contact us with any queries you may have before placing your order.
Once we receive your order, we will send you an order acknowledgement with an exact delivery date (where applicable) and for customer’s requiring installation, we will also contact you to agree an installation date.
For schools in particular, where budget may be an issue, you may opt to replace various door or window products over two budget periods. In such cases, we are happy to provide a comprehensive and itemised estimate enabling you to ‘cherry pick’ installations in order of priority / funding availability and the validity of our estimate will be extended by negotiation.
Product Manufacturing Time
Manufacturing time for aluminium products finished in standard white takes approximately 4 weeks from receipt of order. For products finished in specific RAL colours, bronze or annodised aluminium, delivery will be approximately 6 weeks from receipt of order.
We generally ask for a 25% deposit for all orders with the balance payable 30 days net.
